Charles Zukow - CEO/President
Charles uses his extensive experience to advise and support the rest of the team, overseeing our work with every client while at the same time evaluating new opportunities. His position as one of San Francisco’s best-known marketing professionals is the culmination of a life-long career that has included time in almost every aspect of entertainment.
Charly found his way to Public Relations after an acting career that included appearances in “Making Love”, starring Harry Hamlin, “Cheech and Chong’s Up In Smoke”, and “Skatetown U.S.A.” He also worked in theatre with the L.A. Stage Company, where he immersed himself in countless productions and learned all things theatre, including PR and Marketing. He also spent several years in the music industry before moving to San Francisco to work as an Account Executive for Bill Lanese Advertising and later as the PR Director for the San Francisco International Film Festival. In 1990, he joined Browne Abrams Public Relations. Shortly thereafter, he became a partner, and the company became Browne Zukow Associates. Charles kept his place through various name and personnel changes, and the company became his own in 2002.
In addition to the marketing services offered by his company, Zukow provides media training to a wide array of clients, ranging from start-up CEOs to celebrities and civic leaders. Zukow donates his time and expertise to a number of non-profit organizations and causes. He has volunteered his services to the Academy of Friends, a non-profit AIDS fundraising organization, of which he was also on the Board. Other non-profits include GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and V-Day San Francisco 2002. He also served on the board of Meals on Wheels of San Francisco for 7 years.
Charly uses his creativity, problem solving and rapid changing of gears on a daily basis to ensure that all clients receive CZA’s best work. It is his respect for the smart and dedicated people with whom he works, as well as the excitement he still feels at successfully pitching a story or forging a partnership, that keeps him engaged and coming to the office every day.
Outside of work, Charles is a proud husband, father and grandfather, as well as an excellent chef and an experienced gardener.

Kevin KoPjak - VICE PRESIDENT, PUBLIC RELATIONS & MARKETING
Kevin relishes the opportunity to take the lead with clients whose work reflects some of his strongest personal interests. He manages various accounts, including American Conservatory Theater, Broadway San Jose, Cirque du Soleil, and Feinstein’s at the Nikko. In addition, Kevin collaborates with other team members to represent Beach Blanket Babylon, Hillbarn Theatre, Na Lei Hulu I Ka Wekiu, the Safeway Holiday Ice Rink in Union Square and more!
Kevin has spent all of his 15+ years in the public relations industry with Charles Zukow Associates. He attributes this longevity to his passions for theatre and music, both of which are well-represented among CZA’s clientele. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys traveling (especially internationally), happy hour with friends, and hanging with his nephew and niece.
He appreciates CZA’s collaborative and fun environment, where everyone is passionate about the industry and happy to bounce ideas off of one another.

JULIE RICHTER - Director, Public Relations & Marketing
With more than seven years of agency and in-house PR and Marketing experience, Julie focuses on developing meaningful stories with long-lasting impressions. Combined with her desire to cultivate meaningful relationships with press and influencers and the result is successful campaigns for the likes of 1951 Coffee Company, Beach Blanket Babylon, Cirque du Soleil, Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, Hundred Days, Meals On Wheels of San Francisco, San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus, San Francisco General Hospital Foundation and more.
Outside of her experience at CZA, Julie was the PR & Influencer Manager at Vendini, where she consulted on PR and social media efforts for live event organizations across North America. In that role, she built the foundation for the company’s thought-leadership in the fields of ticketing and entrepreneurship, as well as festivals, performing arts, and live music. Prior to her time in the San Francisco Bay Area, Julie worked on PR and Marketing efforts across EMEA at IPC Information Systems in London.
Julie is dedicated to arts and culture outside of her desk job, attending more live events than she can count and serving on the Board of Directors for Z Space theater in San Francisco’s Mission District. She also has an equal passion for talent in the food and beverage world and says that one of her biggest claims to fame is being dubbed “better than Yelp” by friends and colleagues.
She holds an MBA in International Business at St. Mary’s University College of Twickenham and bachelor’s degrees in Marketing and Art History at Arizona State University. In 2014, she was named a PR Rising Star by PR News.

RACHAEL DAVISON - SENIOR ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
Rachael is a passionate public relations specialist who embodies a “can-do” attitude, loves what she does, and always aims to exceed expectations. She brings energy, enthusiasm and a strong team-player mentality to her role as Senior Account Executive at Charles Zukow Associates. Rachael is thrilled to work with clients whose work reflects her interests and passions, such as the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation, Heroes & Hearts, Beach Blanket Babylon, Jack London Square, the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, Taste Catering and Event Planning, and Tout Sweet Pâtisserie.
Prior to joining CZA, Rachael worked at a mid-sized PR agency in Silicon Valley with high-tech clientele. Before that, she spent her time at ARTS Obispo, an arts organization who develop, sustain, and promote the literary, visual, and performing arts in SLO county, as well as volunteering with a number of other nonprofits such as Wounded Warriors Extreme Heroes, Morro Bay 4th Inc., and several animal rescue organizations. When she’s not working, Rachael can be found hiking and having family game night in Marin, exploring wine country and the coast, or continuing to build out her top 50 San Francisco brunch spots list with friends.
Rachael graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, concentration in Public Relations. She holds Summa Cum Laude honors and was an active member of PRSSA, Central Coast PRspectives (the on campus PR firm), and her sorority.

John Ferrara - Finance Manager
While working so closely with his husband Charles is an obvious upside to his job, John also appreciates and enjoys CZA for what it is: a small group of exceptional public relations specialists who are not accountants and depend on him in order to be able to focus on pitching stories and organizing openings without worrying about invoices.
John brings over thirty-five years of experience in finance and accounting to CZA. He originally joined the company, then Browne Zukow Associates, in 2001 as Assistant Accountant. Prior to this, he had worked for several shipping companies, including Norton Lily Steamship Agency, ITEL Container and Genstar Container. Over the course of his career, though his area of focus has changed from reconciling major shipments to balancing PR invoices, he has continued to masterfully manage inventory, supply and demand and cost involved.
From 1997 to 2002, John took a small hiatus from finance, during which he started his own housecleaning company and became formally certified in massage. Outside of work, he enjoys having dinner with his husband, spoiling his daughters and grandchildren, and vacationing in Palm Springs.
John graduated from St. Josephs College with a BS in Business Administration.
