Charles Zukow
With over two decades of experience in creating and executing full-scale marketing campaigns for a diverse client base, Charles Zukow is one of San Francisco's best-known marketing professionals. Zukow began his San Francisco marketing career in 1986 with Bill Lanese Advertising, where his clients included Warner Bros. and the San Francisco International Film Festival. In 1987, he joined the Festival as Director of Publicity and Marketing. He collaborated with Gail Browne of Gail Browne Public Relations in 1991 to form Browne Zukow Associates, a full service marketing company serving entertainment, hospitality, retail and non-profit organizations. On Browne's relocation to Arizona, Zukow took over the company, which was re-incorporated as Charles Zukow Associates on January 1, 2002. In addition to the marketing services offered by his company, Zukow provides media training to a wide array of clients, ranging from Internet start-up CEOs to celebrities and socialites. Zukow also donates his time and expertise to a number of non-profit organizations and causes. In 2001, he, Browne and their team of marketing professionals raised over $23,000 in donations for the Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk. Zukow has also volunteered his services to the Academy of Friends, a non-profit AIDS fundraising organization, of which he was also on the Board. Other non-profits include GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and V-Day San Francisco 2002. In his spare time, when he's not running the company, scouting for new business, or donating his services to non-profits, Zukow makes the most of his garden by tending to the 1,000+ bulbs he plants every year. Tulips and daffodils are his favorites, though roses occupy a special place in his heart as well. Zukow is also an avid chef, treating his partner John to mouth-watering Mexican food, his signature cuisine.
