JACK LONDON SQUARE WELCOMES FARMHOUSE KITCHEN THAI CUISINE TO THE OAKLAND WATERFRONT

Jack London Square announced the soft opening of the Oakland location of the Michelin-recognized Farmhouse Kitchen Thai Cuisine, which will be fully operating beginning Wednesday, August 1. The wildly popular and beloved restaurant transports diners to the streets of Thailand with its zesty food, Thai melodies, and vibrant space. Located at 336 Webster Street, situated along the waterfront between Belcampo and Forge Pizza.

PEDALFEST RETURNS TO JACK LONDON SQUARE

Jack London Square and Bike East Bay announced the return of Pedalfest on Saturday, July 28 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.  Presented by Bay Area Bicycle Law and Drake’s Brewing Co., Pedalfest is a free celebration of bikes, cycling, food and family. All proceeds benefit Bike East Bay, which promotes healthy, sustainable communities by making bicycling safe, fun and accessible. Free bike valet will be available for all visitors!

JACK LONDON SQUARE HOSTS 4TH OF JULY BLOCK PARTY ON THE OAKLAND WATERFRONT

Jack London Square announced the return of its annual 4th of July Block Party on Wednesday, July 4 from 12 to 5 p.m.

More than 10,000 people celebrate Independence Day on the Oakland waterfront annually. This year, the block party will feature live music from Afro-Latin Funk group Sang Matiz, Oakland-based hip-hop artists The Corna Sto, a collaboration between Delly and [T-BLOCK], Reggae artist Heartafiya, and more. The event will also have activities for kids including games, entertainment, and a craft area, local vendors and eats with BBQ specials, and a beautiful beer garden right in the heart of Jack London Square with beers from Federation Brewing.

JACK LONDON SQUARE WELCOMES TASTE OF OAKLAND FESTIVAL TO THE WATERFRONT

Jack London Square announced it will host the Taste of Oakland Festival, a benefit for YouthAid Non-Profit, the first Saturday of the month July through September - July 7, August 4, and September 1, 2018 from 12 to 6 p.m. This signature event celebrates Oakland and the Bay Area’s unique culture of independent and iconic musicians, culinary talents, and innovation in technology. The event is produced by Oakland’s own Dwayne Wiggins, a member of R&B group Tony! Toni! Toné! and founder of Youth Aid Non-Profit, which provides free music lessons and business fundamentals to youth in the city of Oakland.

JACK LONDON SQUARE CELEBRATES CONSTRUCTION OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDING AND NEW DEVELOPMENTS

Jack London Square celebrated the groundbreaking for construction of the new Jack London Square Apartment Building, anticipated to open in 2020. Located near the corner of Harrison Street and Embarcadero West, the eight-story residential development will include 333 units consisting of studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments, with the ground floor dedicated to retail. The apartment building’s architectural design takes full advantage of its waterfront location with a glass façade providing sweeping bay views, balconies, and landscaped courtyards. Community amenities include a fitness center, business center, bike storage, care facility, central vistas with firepits, and a rooftop terrace with views of the San Francisco Bay.

JACK LONDON SQUARE WELCOMES FOUR STATUES FROM OAKLAND A’S “STOMPER IN THE TOWN” PUBLIC ART PROJECT

Jack London Square announced that it is now home to four statues from the Oakland Athletics’Stomper in the Town” art project in honor of the team’s 50 years in Oakland. The four statues—located at Lungomare, Plank, Visit Oakland, and on the Marina Lawn—are among 50 Stomper statues throughout Oakland.

Jack London Square announced the return of Waterfront Flicks, a free outdoor movie series that takes place at sundown every other Thursday from June 21 through August 30 on the Jack London Square Ferry Lawn. The series features an impressive lineup of Hollywood blockbuster favorites, as well as a nostalgic classic. Jack London Square announced the return of Dancing Under the Stars, a free outdoor summer dance series taking place 7:30–9 p.m. every Friday from June 1 through August 31, 2018 at the foot of Broadway in the heart of Jack London Square. Returning for its 10th season, this series features a free 30-minute dance lesson in a range of styles, from classic jazz and country to modern Bollywood and pop.

Jack London Square announced today that Oakland Supply Co. and Grocery Café have joined the waterfront properties’ ever-expanding mix of tenants. Oakland Supply Co.—a premium apparel, gift and accessories offshoot of the iconic brand Oaklandish that celebrates “local love and original Oakland charm” through civic pride-oriented merchandise—celebrated its arrival at Jack London Square this past weekend (May 13–14) with an official Grand Opening featuring an in-store DJ, special giveaways and more. In addition, the wildly popular Burmese restaurant Grocery Café has relocated from East Oakland and will re-open its doors in the former Hahn’s Hibachi location beginning Monday, May 29.
